It wasn't me - ZorbaBooks

It wasn’t me

It wasn’t me

i am nothing,

moment we met, we

hit it off together

nature and me

kept wandering

to find and be found

picking berries

stunning pebbles

on the way

mimicking the chirps

hoping they understood.

i tried to ape

couldn’t, but my mind

flew with them

enjoying the walk

soul and me.

some i cherished

red, purple, blue

low lying fruits

some tempting

luscious ones,

beyond my reach

dried ones, unwanted ones

i picked, tied the ends, to

a song of melancholy

inspiring few of many.

no, it wasn’t me

it was there, all placed

long before me

i just picked

and stringed them

to a poetry
