Nation First, Always First

It’s wonderful to reminisce about the days of our youth. I can still vividly recall holding a flag in my hand, painting my cheeks with the tricolor, and shouting “Bharat mata ki jai!” Those were truly the best days, filled with hope and inspiration to make a difference for our nation as we grew older.

When I think back to my childhood, I’m filled with memories of a deep love for my country.

The British ruled our country for almost two centuries. After a long struggle, it is important to show gratitude towards the freedom fighters who fought for our independence.

As a child, I was fortunate enough to hear an inspiring story from my grandmother about some incredible freedom fighters. Even at the young age of five, my grandmother was able to recognize the bravery and determination of these individuals. In her childhood, when she was going to school. It was the day that our country got independence. The atmosphere at the school was filled with jubilation as colorful flags adorned every corner of the building. The entire village was immersed in the joy of liberation, and it truly felt like a paradise on earth. It was evident that the locals had a deep appreciation for the value of freedom and knew exactly what it looked like.

It seems as though in today’s era, people are preoccupied with their liberties and don’t take the time to reflect on the efforts that were made to achieve independence. Although I acknowledge the benefits of Western culture in terms of technology, it would be worthwhile to devote at least five minutes to remembering the day of Independence and its significance.

As responsible citizens, we must contribute to the advancement of our country. Rather than solely concentrating on what our nation can provide for us, we should redirect our focus toward what we can do for our nation. It is crucial to impart a deep sense of love for our country in every household and every young mind, for only then can we genuinely prioritize our country’s welfare and place it above all else.
