Chapter 2 2nd part

Our house was on the ground floor just on the village border and there were 15 houses all grouped around a central courtyard. Indian people used to meet together and talk about British India issues and problems and how they should face it. They used to discuss about money and food problems and take these problems ahead and find the best possible solutions.

There was railway staff inside the premises and the staff used to work very hard for a single anna. There was a local market nearby which was in the village itself.People used to buy rice and flour and pulses from there.

It was a very hard living for Indians. Villagers used to plant the crops and with a lot of difficulty irrigate them and preserve them for future.
