Delivery Boy - ZorbaBooks

Delivery Boy

The rain has started bucketing down

as the delivery boy tries to find a shelter

his cellphone starts buzzing constantly;

he picks it up with a heavy heart.

Subsequently, a flashback evokes within

as the raindrops touch him:

the departure of his father was way before time;

he contemplates:

how could he be late in fulfilling his responsibilities.

A hungry mother anticipates his way…

he garners his day’s wage and

buys some scrumptious food.

Upon his arrival

his mother ask,

had he taken his dinner,

to which he replies with a

beautiful lie on his tongue

and a beam of true love in his heart

reminiscent of the fact that

his parents were doing the same

over the years—

and now it’s his turn.
