University of Life
It is said that
in order to be a good poet
you need to spend fifty
years on this planet, but
written in the walls of life
is a lyric by an erratic teacher
that peeps out and gazes at destiny
sometimes, it shows its facet
to some at 20
Oxford and Harvard are said
to bring out the best in you, nevertheless
Shakespeare never went to any University
nor Milton learnt to read English till
his post school days
they took their exams while being in
the scrutiny of life
passed with flying colours and
turned into an evergreen scholar.
Someone asked me once,
“How did you win an author award at 22?”
to which I replied,
“Life nominated me for the merit.”
