The Little Girl Inside Me
Her heart was pure,
it got stabbed till there was no cure.
The warmth in her eyes,
was now as cold as ice.
Her soul was delicate,
but it had to meet her fate.
Her mind almost hit a tree,
trying to figure out life and death’s referee.
Those hands were once tied in chains
but now were tainted with sinful stains.
Those legs wanted to go around the world,
who knew the right path would be so curled?
The innocence in her lies
had now cut all the ties.
Her back which once stood straight,
was now burdened with life’s wicked trait.
Her memories were once a cherished gem,
now they carried her broken past with them.
Her smile so bright, could light up the whole town,
but now it was all hidden behind a big frown.
Her dreams were so alive and high,
now it all seemed like one big lie.
Her nightmares never used to tread due to fear,
now they stayed throughout the year.
Her never-ending trust,
had been betrayed, just because it was a must.
No matter if I waited till the next dawn,
the little girl inside me was long gone.
