My grandmother was not only a treasure trove of stories from Ramayana, Mahabharat, Upanishad and Bhagwat Puran but also an excellent storyteller. She had barely studied in any school. My inquisitive mind always searched for scientific relevance and truth in those stories. This made my grandmother uncomfortable, but she always managed to provide some justification. Those questions remained in my subconscious. The habit of being inquisitive since childhood, helped me later in pursuing my career as a student of physics and as a scientific researcher, contributing original, innovative, fundamental and useful research.
The churnings of my thoughts were expressed in several of the popular articles that I wrote. The topics included some of the most complex and enigmatic subjects such as the concepts of ‘Soul’, ‘Rebirth’, ‘Work’, ‘Law of Karma’, ‘Prana’, ‘Universal Consciousness’, ‘Samudra Manthan-the proverbial churning of the Cosmic Ocean’, ‘Lord Dattatreya’, ‘Ardha-Nari-Nateshwara’, ‘Yogic Samadhi’ etc. are not only based purely on the modern scientific understanding but are sincere effort in providing these concepts a modern scientific basis and re-validate them for the twenty-first century and beyond. While doing so, I do not claim that my interpretations of these ancient concepts are exact, but in the absence of any serious attempts by anyone so far, they feel refreshing, logical and reasonable. Today, we need to look at these enigmatic concepts afresh from a modern scientific perspective without losing their original perspective.
In my pursuit and efforts in contributing something original, Zorba Books has given me a helping hand in not only publishing my writings (Four Books since 2017) but also in reaching out to all those who are eager to know more and more and seek the ultimate truth of their existence. The publicity efforts put in by Zorba Books have exposed my books globally to not only the established scientists but also to the young generation within India. It is very satisfying to learn from several messages I receive that people are gradually reading my books in increasing numbers and recommending them to their children and friends. The figures of consistent sales of these books are indicative of their increasing popularity and acceptance as a new thought by the readers. This is so because my books not only provide new knowledge but also demonstrate how to think in an innovative way, raise pertinent penetrative questions, and look at any research problem in a multidisciplinary way.
Personally, my books have helped me to come into contact with some of the leading personalities from the fields of science, medicine, academics, religion, spirituality and authors, well known for their contribution since decades. There cannot be a better way to serve society than to write good books with chaste honesty, integrity, and genuine concern to create new knowledge and get them published through a reputed publishers for broader dissemination of ideas and knowledge contained therein.
