Is it true,

Are we independant,

Through the times immemorial,

When sunlight was enough,

When we were slaves of our rulers,

When we lived for our kings,

Today we are having a government,

Who follows rules and regulations, oh!

The transition from monarcy to democracy,

Are we independent still,

Or dependant now on the government leaders,

Trying to come at par with them,

It is an endless pursuit,

Independance is achieved only if a person is free,

Has freedom in thought, mind and in action,

Are we free or still in mental slavery ,

Only by a threatening shoulder,

Are in solace that we are independant.

Friends! Independance is freedom of thoughts and action

And not slavery of mind and soul.

Alas! Mind speaks louder and faster than actions.
