Mother
Mother, I remember you always
I now wish to see you before my face.
I know, you are now in our Birnagar home
Sleeping with a lady in our new room.
I am sure you have now slept
By covering yourself with a thick quilt.
It is too cold outside, the raindrops chilled tonight
The winter season’s maiden rain drenched the soil right.
I think of your health, and I am worried too
As there is neither father nor I with you.
I call the Goddess of Care and Beauty on Earth
To fly quickly with all comfort and joy to make you mirth.
I wish I could stay with you at our ancestral home
Feed you and take care of you from night to mourne.
You are so lovely, you are so good and gracious
You have brought me into this world and made me pious.
I convey all my reverence, love, and care through Salus
I pray her to rush quickly and protect and bless.
She will begin her journey immediately, and reach you soon
Only to make you mirthful, joyous, and shower her boon.
