The widening chasm
The widening chasm
The widening chasm, a narrative poetry about people who spend their life caring for their family. While the young fly off to their dream destination creating a new world. The gap widens creating a chasm, a painful divide. The old craving for a touch, a smile & gradually solitude takes over.
The yellow, red dry leaves
resembles carpet
but not for few, who watched it
grow & fall.
finally swept under, lit or buried, by
hands unknown
fruits migrate, chasing dreams
settling, imbibing custom anew.
chasm widens of leaves old
frail, secluded, desperate to hug, cry & laugh
the spirit dampens & fall
relieving the burden of tree
none surprising of nature
the trunk stays, season repeats
steps follow more steps,
what remains in memory is
the swing, when hot & cool breeze blow
and, echo of the past.
