Educated Ignorant - ZorbaBooks

Educated Ignorant

He wears his degrees like medals of pride.

A scholar, a thinker, the world’s learned guide.

Yet beneath the surface, a troubling glare,

A mind is so hollow, unaware.

He speaks of progress, justice, and peace.

But his actions betray him; they never cease

To mock the truth he claims to defend,

A shallow intellect is a means to an end.

Books he has read, in libraries vast,

Yet wisdom eludes him; lessons don’t last.

For knowledge confined to ink on a page

It is a caged bird, never to gauge.

Empathy silenced, compassion ignored,

His intellect was sharp, but his soul implored.

The cries of the world, the pain of the weak,

Fall on ears that refuse to seek.

Oh, educated ignorant, lost in your pride,

The truths of life you choose to deride.

For wisdom’s a mirror; it shows what’s within.

Not just the laurels your ego can spin.

Awaken, O scholar, let wisdom ignite,

Let heart and mind unite in their light.

For the truly learned are humble, aware,

Their knowledge was a beacon, their love laid bare.
