In another universe _ - ZorbaBooks

In another universe _

I loved her laughter, soft and bright,

A melody that chased the night.

Her hand in mine, her smile so near,

The world felt safer when she was here.

Her eyes, two stars that lit my skies,

Unspoken dreams in her gentle sighs.

We shared our days in fleeting bliss,

But nothing compared to our first kiss.

A time of COVID-a quiet room,

Her lips found mine, dispelling gloom.

The taste of hope, the thrill, the fire,

A love too pure to ever tire.

For love like ours could not take flight,

Bound by rules, hidden from light.

But I would tattoo her name on my skin,

A mark of love that burns within.

“If not in this world,” I told her once,

“Then another life, another chance.”

She smiled, I tears a bittersweet stream,

Her love for me is a fragile dream.

And so I hold her close in my mind,

A love that time cannot unwind.

If not in this universe, I’ll wait for her,

In another sky, where love is sure.
