*Death's Karma* - ZorbaBooks

*Death’s Karma*

Some claim death is a curse,

While others label it a fright,

But when I contemplate death,

Neither sentiment grips my soul tight.

Do you know what occupies my mind?

An afterlife, a pure state of being,

Free from fire, frost, or karma’s yoke,

Just serenity, a vessel brimming with love,

Oh Christ, how profoundly I’m woke!

Karma, I find, exerts no sway,

As I gasp my final breath today,

Reclined beneath my debts’ heavy sway,

Oh God, this pain, I must convey,

Recalling colleagues and friends, in a way.

Yet, on the flip side, there’s a cheer,

For I’ll soon plunge into the sea,

The ocean of life’s profound verity.

No hell or heaven I wish to see,

Just a wellspring of goodwill, so clear.

In this moment, every memory cascades,

The sweet and sour of life’s escapade,

Packing up my memory’s charade,

To the afterlife, I venture unafraid,

No riches, no malice, no pride displayed,

Only a slice of humanity, I grade.

Farewell, dear world, the time has arrived,

Wait, don’t depart, for I’m still alive,

But I must leave you with a thought,

A final lyrics of wisdom I’ve sought,

Everything begins and, in time, concludes,

So live with joy, not as one who’s bruised,

Choose to part this life with grace,

No need for prayers, or heaven’s embrace,

Your karma knows your rightful place.
