A tete-a-tete Between High and Low - ZorbaBooks

A tete-a-tete Between High and Low

A tete-a-tete Between High and Low

A caterpillar and the sparrow were conversing

On a sunny day, enjoying their leisurely

Moments ; the sparrow asked the caterpillar,

“Can he fly high in the air, and make circles

Around the globe?’ The caterpillar smiled

And retorted back ‘can she crawl from plant

To plant or stick beneath the green leaves

For hours together?’ the sparrow spoke with

Attitude that she can’t stoop so low!

The caterpillar laughed heartily, and uttered

In a philosophical tone; everybody has to

Come down to earth when his eyes are Finally closed; you are no exception, my

Little sparrow though your flight for the

Journey last will certainly be unfettered;

‘You have no permanent home, for sure’,

Said the earthly caterpillar; I always

Enjoy the warmth of mother earth ‘s bosom,

Or take shelter in the shadows of leaves Green, blooming under the vast sky azure;

The sparrow replied in measured voice

And said that she is the daughter of both,

Sky and earth; she is patronized by mother

Nature, and she has no better choice;

In fact, we can’t compare each-other’s

State of existence; we feel happy in

Our habitats for the transitory life what

We have; we should thank the Almighty,

For giving us shelter and food to survive;

Still we are fighting, what a pity!
