Mirrors Evoke Dreams Sometimes
Mirrors Evoke Dreams Sometimes
‘I want to grow like a tree’ has been my sweet
Refrain of my unbridled imaginations,
Whenever I look into the huge mirror,
Knowing fully well that I am a pup;
And I can’t become a tree anymore, like a
Tree which can’t be changed into a pup,
Without any divine intervention!
Yet I can spread the much-needed cool
To the members of my human family;
Also,l can share their sad moments, and
The happy memories alike; I can prove
To be their Man Friday in the time of need;
Come what may, I will not change my colours,
With the passage of time;
I will always remain loyal to my masters,
And try to be like a shade all the time;
I will make endeavours to emulate the sweet
Language of birds in my own way,
To make them happy and mirthful; I will
Shake my body haphazardly to provide you
The whiff of air to some extent;
I don’t want to look-like a grown tree, but
I would like to imbibe the sterling qualities
Of always-giving trees; I repeat my resolve
To be like, that is how I look into
The huge mirror daily.
Someday, my wish will be fulfilled by the Lord,
I know for sure.
