Sunset at Borobudur

This is my land of abounding enlightenment,

Where the luminosity of souls never Diminishes, and the bright sun finds solace

Behind the verdant trees and the big

Mountain ridges; It takes rest for a while,

To rise once again in the morn;

People of this ancient town are my votaries,

And my followers to the core; they prefer

Peace and harmony everywhere; my calm

Countenance gives them courage and

Internal strength to fight the blues,

Given by the marching times;

I am Buddha, the ultimate hope of

Enlightenment of human beings for making

This earth a veritable heaven;

The beautiful hues of sunset is embellishing

The expanding sky over my earthly existence;

The golden rays of descending sun are

Illuminating the temples and the buildings

Of this grand city of most valuable heritage;

Borobudur is my legacy where the sun

Never sets or bids adieu.
