When the Crow Finds Water, At Last!

When the crow came running down on

Earth to quench his thirst at first sight,

He barged into an ocean full of drops

But of knowledge, not of water bright.

His thirst was overpowering his senses,

And his vision was getting blurred;

He tore the pages of the sacred book,

But found no water, only dry words.

He thus destroyed the source of wisdom,

There was no one to guide him; where

Was water he would not know, as he

Was stranded at a busy thoroughfare.

At last, he performed an unwanted task,

To move away from the desperation;

He picked the book in his beak, and

Flew to an unknown destination.

He sighted a vast water-filled pond,

And dropped the book from the height;

The printed letters got mingled therein,

And became water drops in shimmering light.

The crow was happy beyond expectation,

As he was feeing doubly lucky that day ;

He had drunk a mix of water and knowledge,

While the sun was shining, he made hay.
