Art of letting go - ZorbaBooks

Art of letting go

In the silence of the night,

Where whispered breezes flow,

A heart learns to release,

And find the strength to grow.

In this world, people are born too selfish,

I wish I could talk to her about this,

But you, a beautiful star, listen,

To my tears, happiness, and foolishness.

You’ve seen my journey,

From good to worst,

Though I don’t believe you’re

A better soulmate than others.

The age difference is vast,

But I chose you still,

Sometimes my expectations hurt,

Sometimes I hurt others with my will.

I’m here for anyone,

Strangers or close ones in strife,

Yet I have very few left,

Due to my nature, aggressive and rife.

Over-caring, over-sharing,

Now trust is a distant land,

In the end, everyone hurts me,

And leaves me alone to stand.

The ties that once held tight,

Now gently fall away,

In the art of letting go,

We find a brighter day.

Memories softly fade,

Like footprints in the sand,

A love that’s set adrift,

Allows a soul to stand.

Embracing new beginnings,

As old dreams gently flow,

In the art of letting go,

Our true selves start to show.
