Grandmother

The little girl was 6 years old. She had developed power and had been advised to wear spectacles.

It was not the girl’s fault.

Her grandfather used to watch television unaware of time and space in a dark room.

So did her father.

Her mother did not properly look after her.

Her grandmother had a serious cataract operation.

When the girl used to study she was not taught proper posture. She had the tendency to droop down in front of her book.

When she sat with mobile, nobody thought of giving her for a limited time and make her engaged in another nice activity to withdraw the mobile.

But the elders indulged in teasing her as a “Grandmother” when she wore spectacles. Her mother and grandmother laughed in front of her private tutor and exclaimed,”See!She looks like a dida(grandmother)!” The tutor replied, “I don’t feel she looks like a grandmother. Many people have power and don’t wear spectacles. Dear Nandini, you are looking very nice. Wear your spectacles regularly. I also do. Then your power will be under check.”

The smile from their faces went away. They also had power, but did not wear spectacles.

If they would have really loved the child, they would have valued the condition of the child’s eyes for which they were responsible and encouraged her to regularly wear glasses to keep the power under control. Sometimes of course you can remove and shoot a photo or video. The child had problem in wearing the spectacles for bad fittings. Only when the tutor told it was given to the shop for proper adjustment. She wrote a letter to her father that in every class she should wear spectacles. She advised the student to wear it regularly. Her student obeyed her.

Teasing someone is not fun. Before teasing you think what you are. May teasing by silly stupid people not prevent others from acting sensibly.
