raced to leave the other behind.

Said the heart to the mind

you are very unkind!

Mind proudly boasted

you are soft and bloated

and have in you no brain

so, all goes down the drain.

Mind further ranted… you are a fool

and a philanderer’s tool.

Heart sadly smiled

and lowered its eyes

I am vital to all lives

with courage to bear all lies.

Without you one can live

Without me no one is alive
