“‘I Love You’ in the ICU’ & Other Stories” is entitled thus as my late Ma remains my first love. As I owe a lot to The Blessed Country, BHUTAN, the book contains some of the stories I wrote during my stay of nearly 3 decades in that most gorgeous country I’ve known in my entire life. I held a secret hope deep down that one day my stories would be published from Bhutan itself. I waited long enough. As times rolled by, I realized that my dream would not be fulfilled in my life time, if ever. So, when the opportunity knocked on the door in the form of this writing
challenge, I decided to grab it with both hands. The book is the result. I am sorry I couldn’t arrange the stories as I wanted to.
Even then if they meet with your approval, I shan’t consider my labor to have gone in vain.

About the Author

Rathin Bhattacharjee
from Kolkata, India, graduated from the C.U. in 1983 and completed his Master’s from J.U. in 1990. He joined BCSC as an English Teacher in the same year as well. Awarded HM’s Gold Medal in 2018, he resigned from the post of the Principal of SXPS, Joypur, India in March, 2024.
He has been published and anthologised in a host of Indian and international magazines. His novel entitled, “The Damon in Doctor’s Disguise” on Web Novel has been much acclaimed. Two of his other novels entitled “The Autobiography of CU’s Worst Student” and “My Sis: Through My Eyes” were brought out by ZobraBooks and Amazon.in respectively in 2023. His third storybook entitled “Some Friends Are Forever & Other Stories” is to be released shortly through the DIY scheme of Zorbabooks.
He loves writing, blogging, translating, podcasting, critiquing and editing.
